There are twelve ‘poisons of spirit’. They express through our shadow behaviours. Shadow behaviours are problematic as they are either unconsciously acted out or projected onto others. They block the power of light from expressing through us.

The ‘poison of spirit’ of ignorance manifests as attitudes based on ignorance and fear, blaming others, refusing to learn from mistakes, being scattered, half-knowledge, mindlessness, misunderstanding and half-baked ideas.

The ‘poisons of spirit’ and their associated shadow behaviours have a corrosive and corrupting affect on our holistic make-up and on our life. The twelve ‘poisons of spirit’ mostly operate unconsciously. Their unconscious mode of operation means that they influence the patterns, tone and the direction that our life takes. We can live in a state of complete unawareness of their destructive impact on our daily life.

ANTIDOTING THE ‘POISON OF SPIRIT’ OF IGNORANCE

Antidoting the ‘poison of spirit’ of ignorance helps to eliminate the ‘monkey mind’ and address any tendencies toward mental superficiality and ignorance. This results in a genuine interest in other realities apart from our own and enables us to develop the ability to connect with our higher self.

To free ourselves from the ‘poison of spirit’ of ignorance and its associated shadow behaviours, we need to work with the Eighth Ray Antidoting the Poison of Spirit Chalice Ritual© and the corresponding alchemical formulations that act as an antidote.

RITUAL: EIGHTH RAY ANTIDOTING THE POISON OF SPIRIT CHALICE RITUAL©

The Eighth Ray Antidoting the Poison of Spirit Chalice Ritual© is a very powerful ritual that works synergistically with the alchemical process to antidote the ‘poisons of spirit’ and transmute their associated shadow behaviours so that we can more easily express our true self in the world. This Eighth Ray ritual works at a very deep and personal level, enabling us to more easily access and transform the hidden and unconscious aspects of ourselves that have an  undermining or destructive affect on our life.

As with all Eighth Ray magic rituals, when we are performing the Eighth Ray Antidoting the Poison of Spirit Chalice Ritual© for ourselves, we are simultaneously sending the healing light out into the world. We create the means for the light to shine upon the shadow behaviours that express in the human collective and poison the world.

The Eighth Ray Antidoting the Poisons of Spirit Chalice Ritual© process can be enhanced with the use of celestial affirmations. Celestial affirmations are dynamic constructive self-empowering statements that work to change patterns held in the cellular consciousness.

You can construct your own celestial affirmation using keywords from the corresponding alchemical formulations or from the book Eighth Ray Magic: The Magic of the Goddess – The Magic of Co-Creation.

For the ‘poison of spirit’ of ignorance we will be using the following celestial affirmation “To enable me to antidote the ‘poison of spirit’ that is expressing as ignorance I will be more knowledgeable, understanding and open-minded.” 

PERFORMING THE RITUAL 

While the Eighth Ray Antidoting the Poison of Spirit Chalice Ritual© is ideally carried out with eight steps, it can be conducted using the simple three-step ritual process.

Steps of the ritual

Before you begin

Put on your altar the following Porta Alchémica® alchemical formulations that correlate with your magical objective:

• Mercury planetary elixir
• Sagittarius zodiacal elixir
• Mercury planetary anointing oil
• Gemini zodiacal anointing oil
• Mercury planetary incense (optional)

You will also need:

• Specially dedicated chalice or goblet
• Matches or lighter
• White or beeswax central candle
• Porta Alchémica® Aura Mist
• Incense burner and charcoal (optional)
• Isis-Urania crystal wand (optional)

Put a small amount of pure water in your chalice.

Burning ritual incense creates a magical bridge between heaven and earth and the energies you are working with. Make sure the charcoal tablet is glowing and ready in the incense burner before you add the incense. Put a pinch of the planetary incense on the glowing charcoal before you begin the ritual.

* Step 1: 

Ritual ring, ritual amulet and ritual bell 

To begin, stand in the east facing west. Put on your ritual amulet and ritual ring. Ring the ritual bell. When putting on the ritual ring take a short step forward with your right foot and say,

“Thy will not my will.”

Then say silently or out loud,

“I am an eighth ray ritual magician.
I purpose good in my world,
I purpose good in the world,
I purpose good in the greater universe.”

* Step 2: 

Seal your metaphysical and ritual working space 

Sprinkle or use an aspergillum or your fingers to flick holy water into the four quadrants or corners of the ritual space. Ideally use Porta Alchémica® Holy Water which has been specially made for this purpose. Then say decisively and powerfully,

“I cleanse and sanctify with holy water!”

* Step 3:  

Burn planetary ritual incense 

Add a pinch of Mercury planetary incense onto the glowing charcoal tablet and say,

“I bridge the worlds with this sacred suffumigation of Mercury”

* Step 4: 

Light the central ritual candle 

Light the candle in the centre of your altar. Say,

“Light victorious, light triumphant, light eternal, light in extension!”

* Step 5/1: 

Anoint yourself

Place three drops of each of the two Porta Alchémica® anointing oils in a triangle pattern on your inner wrists. Using your index finger touch the anointing oil on your left wrist and anoint your third eye between the eyebrows with the figure of the lemniscate which is a figure eight on its side. Then rub your wrists together in a figure eight motion and inhale the fragrance deeply three times. Say,

“I attune to the magical frequency of Mercury and Gemini”

* Step 6/2: 

Ingest the elixir as a ritual libation

Place three drops of each of the two Porta Alchémica® elixirs in a triangular pattern into the water in the chalice. Start at the apex with one drop of elixir then one drop at each of the other two points of the triangle.

As you do so say silently or out loud,

“My inner alchemist aligns with the energies and powers of Mercury and Sagittarius”

Place your hands in a triangular shape, thumb to thumb, index finger to index finger over the top of the chalice. Blow through the triangle onto the water and then say,

“The sacred alchemical rose flowers within the chalice of my being.”

Slowly drink the potentised water in your chalice that has alchemically transformed to become an alchemical chalice of sacred libation.

Now you can say silently or out loud your celestial affirmation,

“To enable me to antidote the poison of spirit that is expressing as ignorance I will be more knowledgeable, understanding and open minded.”

* Step 7: 

Send the energy out on the spirit breath and magically open the Eighth Ray Magic portal on the selected frequency

To the alchemist, the breath, as well as being the essence of life itself is magically understood to be the ‘spirit breath’ and is one of the key animating and vivifying principles in alchemy.

If you have the Eighth Ray Isis-Urania crystal wand, pick it up in readiness to send the energy out and magically open the Eighth Ray magic portal. Hold the Isis-Urania crystal wand with both hands in front of you, eight fingers to the front of the crystal wand and your two thumbs at the back.

If you do not have the Isis-Urania crystal wand, just proceed with the breath sequence.

Take three slow deep breaths to alchemically and magically weave the energies that you have ingested in the spiritual transformation ritual libation into a unified light power and to open the Eighth Ray magic portal. Each time you breathe out after taking in breath, blow the breath out before you like a wind by exhaling strongly through slightly pursed lips. If you have an Isis-Urania crystal wand then blow your intent four times into the crystal ball at the top of your Isis-Urania crystal wand and say,

“I blow it through my world (Then blow your first spirit breath)

I blow it through the world (Then blow your second spirit breath)

I blow it through the greater universe  (Then blow your third spirit breath)

I blow it through the worlds” (Then blow your fourth spirit breath)

Step 8/3: 

Lock in the magical frequency and seal the aura

Spray the Porta Alchémica® Aura Mist three times in the shape of a triangle: above the head, then above the right and then left shoulder to lock in your intent and seal the aura to hermetically contain the energies and powers you wish to express or make manifest.

Then say decisively and forcefully,

“Consummatum est!”
